UNDER-17 FINAL

Hard luck to our under-17 hurlers, on losing to Cloughbawn, in the Roinn one county final. Our team performed very well but went down to stronger opponents. However, it was a great achievement to qualify for the final and the experience gained will stand to the players in the future. The whole panel deserve great credit for their dedication and commitment throughout the campaign and credit too to the management team of Martin Dempsey, Stephen Doyle, Ben O’Connor and Peter Murphy, who left no stone unturned in their quest for victory. Thanks also to Pauline Roche for doing First Aid all year and thanks also to the senior players who helped with various coaching sessions. Míle buíochas also to the parents/ guardians for their continued support and sincere thanks to the people who gave much – appreciated sponsorship to the team.

CAMOGIE COUNTY FINAL

Oulart-The Ballagh camogie club can be very proud of the senior team who lost to St Martin’s in the recent county final. They battled bravely throughout the hour and displayed the determination, skill and sportsmanship for which they are renowned. Having won 12 senior titles since 2003 they have kept the club’s name to the forefront within the county and throughout the country.

Thank you ladies for your efforts and, no doubt, the team will be back to fight another day. Thank you to the management team of Colin Sunderland, Kevin Kennedy, Kevin Doyle and Bridget Moran for all their work throughout the year and to the committee for their continued support.
