The community alert meeting and AGM will be held on Carrig hall on Monday, October 22, at 8 p.m.

HISTORICAL SOCIETY

The Bannow Historical Society will host a talk on the Keerock Islands by Jim Hurley in Tír na nÓg on Wednesday, October 17, at 8 p.m. Free admission all welcome.

DANCING

Social dancing continues in Tír na nÓg every Thursday night with music this Thursday, October 18, Brendan Lee, October 25 No dance Saturday, October 27, music by Joe Kennedy Kildare, and November 1 Art Supple. All funds raised are for the handball new build. Refreshmen­ts served all welcome.

All these services are available to everyone in the community.

BALLYMITTY HALL

We will be hosting a Harvest Market on Sunday, October 28, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Ballymitty Hall. Jams, Baked Goods, Halloween and other crafts. Stalls €10. To book a place please contact 087 2664412.

Arts and Crafts Class – ‘Shabby Chic Your Pumpkin’ for Halloween. Class will take place on Saturday, October 20, from 1.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. in Ballymitty Hall. To register your interest or book your place, please contact Geraldine at 087 1370799.

Ballymitty Hall AGM – The AGM will take place on Thursday, November 8, at 8 p.m. in Ballymitty Hall. Update on the progress of the planned new hall will be provided on night. GAA club notes

Lotto draw this Tuesday evening with a jackpot of €8,300. The under-17 boys’ Football were unlucky in their semi-final championsh­ip game against Kilross in St Patrick’s Park on Wednesday evening last. They lost by two points. Hard luck Lads and their mentors Jack, Dan, Kieran, Jack and Alan.
