YOUTH CLUB

Our Lady’s Island Youth Club will start back on Friday, November 2. Anyone from first years up are most welcome. Sorry for the delay but it will be worth it – we have nice new heating system.

GAALOTTO

Well done to Kathleen Meyler (seller post office) and Paula Dempsey (seller Noel Dempsey) in sharing the match-three prize in last week’s draw. Numbers drawn were 14, 19, 24 and 25. There were no jackpot winners, meaning tonight’s money stands at €15,200. Tickets available weekly for just €1.50 each.

GAA BINGO

The weekly GAA bingo in Butler’s continues every Tuesday at 8 p.m. The jackpot stands at €500 with two game book costing just €8 to play. We also have half books for sale too plus our ever popular ‘Split the Sheet’ interval game. So, why not give a friend or neighbour a shout and join us for an hour or so, you never know, but you might come away with a little profit.

TACUMSHANE CARDS

Cards are up and running again Tacumshane Old School at 8.30 p.m. every Tuesday. Looking forward to meeting all our card playing friends again.

CHAIR YOGA

Chair Yoga with Eileen Rowe continues every Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Butler’s Lounge. Clothes Collection

Broadway School Parent’s Assoc. are having their annual autumn Clothes collection. All clothes, towels, bed linen, curtains, shoes (tied together), handbags and belts can be placed in black bags and left in the school between 9.30 a.m. and 2 p.m. from Monday, October 15, till Wednesday, October 24. No pillows, duvets or quilts. All donations are greatly appreciate­d. Split-the-pot

Until the community centre becomes available the split-thepot draw and ‘cuppa’ will be held in the Conservato­ry of Parochial House after Sun. Mass. Congratula­tions to Rita Murray on winning €110 in last week’s splitthe-pot draw.

BALLYCOGLE­Y PLAYERS

Our one act comedies will be staged from Thursday, October 25, to Sunday, October 28, in St Michael’s SVDP Hall, Thomas St, Wexford at 8 p.m. nightly, with an admission charge of €10. Great nights of entertainm­ent in store and we look forward to your support.

A meeting was held in Tomhaggard Social Centre recently and a decision was made by the group that we take a break from the Drama circuit next year. However, we will stage a full length play/comedy in March 2019. Readings and rehearsals for this production will start very soon. If you would like to be involved in our group (acting/stage crew, lighting, sound etc), please contact any committee member or send us a private message on our Facebook page.

ICA GUILD NEWS

A meeting of our local ICA guild was held on Monday last and all present joined in extending wishes for a speedy recovery to our neighbours who are sick or in hospital at this time. Sympathy was extended to the Rea family on their recent bereavemen­t. A coffee morning in aid of Hospice Homecare will be held on Thursday, October 25, in the Island Bar from 10.30 to midday – your support for this very worthy cause will be much appreciate­d. Warm congratula­tions were offered to Francesca and Pat Russell on their 50th Wedding Anniversar­y. An outing to Rathwood is planned for November 29 – non-members welcome, please contact Lila 9131145. The president thanked Jenny for supplying prizes for the raffle. The competitio­n was won by Joan and Patricia and the raffle was won by Susan and Patricia.
