10 Baker Street Undercover It’s 26 years since Yorkshire’s Tasmin Archer released her debut single ‘Sleeping Satellite’, a song she had composed with John Beck and her partner John Hughes back in the late eighties, before landing a record deal with EMI. The song was an instant hit in the UK , spending two weeks at No. 1. It also hit the top in Ireland and Greece and was a top ten hit in many other countries. The sleeping satellite of the title is the moon, and there are references in the lyrics to the Apollo Missions of the sixties. Archer ,who is now 55, had a few more minor hits in the UK but ‘Sleeping Satellite’ is her only Irish chart entry to date.
