More land leased to St Mary’s club

WEXFORD District Council has agreed to lease an extra four and a half acres of land to St Mary’s GAA Club at Trespan Rock in Maudlintow­n at an overall annual charge of €200,000 which includes the rent on a large site currently used by the club.

The land is being leased by the local authority to support the developmen­t of additional community, amenity and sporting space in the town. The existing public walkways are to be preserved although an allowance has been made for relocating them if necessary.

The additional land measuring 1.8 hectares is adjacent to land currently leased by the GAA Club from the council. The annual rent is €200,000 which covers both sites.

The local authority has also unanimousl­y agreed to lease three other properies to community groups in the area.

A house in St. Brendan’s Estate, Rosslare Harbour is to be leased to Jim Rawson and Tony McCormack on behalf of Kilrane-Rosslare Men’s Shed group for a period of four years and nine months at a rent of €1 per year.

The property is to be used for meeting purposes only and no crafts or other activities are to be carried out.

The renewal of a lease on Coolcotts Community Centre has been granted to Clonard Area Developmen­t Associatio­n Ltd after it expired on April 30 this year. The term of the new lease is four years and nine months at an annual rent of €100.

A lease held by Ferns Diocesan Youth Services Ltd on a house at 8 Lee Heights in Wexford town is also being renewed after it expired on August 31. The new lease will run for four years and nine months at an annual rent of €100.
