Celebrity chef Fulvio to share kitchen tips for Healthy Town
The PFIZER Healthy Town campaign is continuing in Wexford and the next free event is a cookery demonstration with award-winning celebrity chef Catherine Fulvio, who will share recipes that will be easy for people to replicate at home.
The event takes place in the Riverbank House Hotel on Wednesday. The demonstration starts at 6.30 p.m. and will include an introductory talk on the benefits of healthy eating by Irish Heart Foundation dietician Sarah Noone.
As an internationally renowned chef, Catherine Fulvio is known for her no-fuss approach to food. Her cookery demonstration will follow the Healthy Town themes of Heart and Nutrition, and highlight how easy it is for the whole family to eat healthy while maintaining a balanced diet. After the demonstration, each attendee will be given a copy of the recipes to replicate the dishes at home.
Commenting on the upcoming demonstration, Catherine Fulvio said: ‘Cooking from scratch can be quite daunting for some, and there is a common misconception that good, nutritious food is time consum- ing to prepare. Through this cookery demonstration, I want to show the people of Wexford Town how quick and easy it is to prepare a family friendly home-cooked meal using only the best ingredients.’
Sarah Noone said: ‘Heart disease and stroke are one of the leading causes of death in Ireland and the number of people living with the disease is expected to increase by 40% by the year 2020. The good news is 80% of premature heart disease and stroke is preventable. By becoming more active and adopting a healthier lifestyle, people can reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke and add years on to their life.’
