Olivia O’Dwyer is a painter of the natural world who finds solace in the land, sea and skies.
She observes the landscape by absorption and has a personal reaction with it which leaves a lasting memory. She ca[ptures the strength and energy of her surroundings without over-analysing the process and keeps her method natural and instinctive as the subject itself.
Olivia’s focus lies in a minimalistic approach to painting. She simplifies the subject for maximum impact, using a limited palette, relying on texture and mark making to convey an emotional response to the landscape.
Her paintings are abstract in that they are contemplative works done in silence in a meditative way, whilst being keenly aware of the painting process.
