Our Lady’s Island HOSPICE COFFEE MORNING

The ICA coffee morning in aid of Hospice Homecare takes place this Thursday, October 25, in the Island Bar from 10.30 a.m. to midday. Your support for this very worthy cause will be very much appreciate­d.

Broadway School Parent’s Assoc. annual autumn Clothes collection. All clothes, towels, bed linen, curtains, shoes (tied together), handbags and belts can be placed in black bags and left in the school between 9.30 a.m. and 2 p.m. from Monday, October 15, till Wednesday, October 24. COMMUNITY LOTTO

There was no winner of last week’s jackpot of €15,200. The winning numbers were 4, 27, 30 and 33. There was one matchthree winner who received €200. The winner was Joan Connolly. The next lotto draw will be held on Tuesday, October 23, and the jackpot now stands at €15,400.

SENIOR CITIZENS HOUSING AGM

The annual general meeting of Rathangan senior citizens Housing Associatio­n CLG will take place in the playschool at Rathangan Hall on Friday, October 26, at 8 p.m. Every resident of the parish qualifies as a member and is entitled to attend and vote. All welcome so please come along. Please note venue as presidenti­al election voting booths are in main hall.

Cleariesto­wn Community Playgroup will be having a Fundraisin­g used clothing collection on Monday, November 12. Please donate all your clean unwanted clothes also bed linen, towels, curtains, shoes, bags, belts and soft toys. Old mobile phones will also be accepted. You can drop off any items at the playschool any weekday morning between 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

Rosslare Harbour ST PAUL’S AC

A massive congratula­tions and well done to Maeve Hayes, who was representi­ng Loreto Wexford on October 13 in the all-Ireland Schools Combined Events in Athlone, where she finished in fourth place and has now automatica­lly qualified for the Irish Team for the Schools Internatio­nal in Scotland next month.

Sunday, October 14, saw the Uneven ages and Seniors County Cross Country hosted by United Strider’s AC in JFK Catherine O’Leary won silver in the under-nine girls, Peter Stefanova was 11th in the under-11 boys, Ciara Martin competed in the under-16 girls and Jenny Higgins in the Senior Women’s. Congratula­tions and well doe to all.

We are holding an ‘Champions Celebratio­n’ on October 27 in Kilrane National School at 5 p.m., 2018 has been a momentous year for St Paul’s and we would like to acknowledg­e our athletes and coaches and the hard work they have put in throughout the year. This event is open to all in our community and we hope to see as many current and past members and their families as possible. Training returns to the Track in Rosslare Strand on Monday, October 22, at the usual times.

SYMPATHY

Condolence­s to Veronica Kehoe and family, Rosslare Harbour on the sad passing of her sister Marie Murphy (nee McElhatton) Omagh, Co Tyrone whose death occurred on October 10. Marie was laid to rest in Drumrath Cemetery after Requiem Mass in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Omagh. May she rest in peace.

LEGO WORKSHOP

A limited number of places are remaining on the four-day Bricks4Kid­z Lego Workshop from October 30 to November 2 at Rosslare Community Centre. A themed camp designed to teach the principles of Science, Technology, Engineerin­g and Maths (STEM) to five- to 12-year-olds in a fun and entertaini­ng way. Build specially designed models, explore the worlds of engineerin­g, architectu­re and mathematic­s. Pumpkins, zombies and withering skeletons will feature in our themed Hallowe’en camp.
