Court told of series of charges
A CARELESS driving offence was among a number of matters outstanding against Peter or PJ Kuhn (31) considered in the District Court at Wexford.
The address of the defendant was formerly Grey Robin in Kilmore but Judge John Cheatle learned that the defendant is now resident in Kerry and working as a landscape gardener.
The prosecution arose on March 25 when he was seen driving erratically before speeding away at 140 km/h from gardaí who activated their blue flashing light.
The court heard that Kuhn had been threatening and abusive on another occasion, to the extent that he was pepper sprayed by arresting gardaí. Also dealt with on a plea of guilty was further threatening behaviour at Flanagan’s shop in Castlebridge where staff were told that the place would be burned down.
A charge relating to possession of €60 worth of cannabis was before the court too.
Judge John Cheatle marked a fine of €250 for the careless driving and took all other matters into consideration without further punishment as the accused had already spent a month in custody on remand.
The accused said he was enjoying his time in Listowel and doing well there.
