1 MUSIC AND COMEDY IN MACKENS.

Limited tickets remain for music and comedy gigs in Mackens of the Bullring this week. On Thursday night (November 29), comedian Damo Clark takes the stage. Fast becoming one of the hottest tickets in comedy clubs and festivals, his new show won the Amused Moose People’s Champion Award 2018 at the Edinburgh Fringe. Tickets for this Wexford Comedy Club gig are just €8. Meanwhile, on Friday, November 30, prolific singer songwriter John Spillane makes his Wexford return, promising to once again captivate with his unique style on folk and trad. Spillane, who last year celebrated 35 years in the business, has sold over 100,000 albums in Ireland and been awarded with two Meteor Irish Music Awards. His songs have been covered by many of Irish folk’s top performers, including Christy Moore, Sean Keane, Karan Casey, Pauline Scanlon, Solas, Mary Black, Méav, Sinéad Lohan and Sharon Shannon. 2 WEXFORD GAELS WITH TALES NIGHT:

The Geraldine O Hanrahan’s Coiste na nOg is hosting a night featuring talks by GAA stars in the Brandon House Hotel, New Ross, on Friday at 8 p.m. A star studded line-up including Davy Fitzgerald, Richie Power, Mark Fanning, Ursula Jacob, Ken McGrath, Martin Storey, Tom Dempsey,

Dickie Murphy and Walter Walsh will feature on the night. MC for the event is Liam Spratt. Doors open at 7.15 p.m. with the event starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are available from Pat Wickham on 085 8720811, Geraldine Ryan on 086 1516622 and O’Riain’s cafe in Irishtown, New Ross. Money raised on the night will be used for hurls for the club members.

3 SAOIRSE ON STAGE:

Clients of St Aidan’s Services in Gorey are preparing for their upcoming variety concert that will take place on Saturday, December 1, at 7 p.m., in Gorey Little Theatre. ‘Saoirse on Stage’ is a show written by the service users themselves with support from director Tara Anne Byrne and St Aidan’s staff. Tickets are €5 and are available from St Aidan’s Services and from the Saoirse Centre.

4 BRITAIN’S GOT TALENT AUDITIONS:

Auditions for the next season of Britain’s Got Talent will take place in the Jerome Hynes theatre in the National Opera House on Wednesday, November 28. The auditions will be held between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Anyone unable to attend the auditions in person is advised to visit itv. com/britainsgo­ttalent to find out how to apply on video, WhatsApp or by post. 5 FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL:

A hilarious Camolin version of ‘Four weddings and a Funeral’ will take place in the Ashdown Park Hotel, on Friday, November 30, at 9 p.m. The show will be followed by entertainm­ent from Take 5 and a DJ till late. Tickets are €10 and are available from Halford’s Hair Studio in Gorey, the Ashdown Park Hotel, numerous businesses in Camolin and any of the cast members. The money raised will go towards Camolin Community Developmen­t Associatio­n’s ‘Bann River Eco Walk’ project.

6 COLIN MURPHY:

Comedian Colin Murphy is no stranger to Wexford stages and he will perform his new show ‘The Bald Ambition’ in Wexford Arts Centre on Saturday night at 8 p.m. On the road for 25 years now, Murphy says that he started out with a dream, with hope and with hair, all three of which he was still just about hanging on to! Best known for his sardonic humour, he has appeared on ‘Blame Game’, ‘Murphy and O’Kane Do Le Football’, ‘The Panel’, and ‘The Blizzard of Odd’. He has performed all over the world. 7 THE NUTCRACKER:

Ballet Ireland will make a welcome return to the National Opera House on Friday, November 30, to present its production of ‘The Nutcracker’. One of the world’s most famous and much-loved ballets it’s a seasonal classic and will be performed by a cast of internatio­nal, world-class dancers. It’s a story that’s full full of fairytale magic, beautiful costumes and Tchaikovsk­y’s fabulous score.

The show will provide the perfect way to prepare for the festive season and those in attendance. Tickets for the performanc­e are priced €25, €20 (concession), €15 (children under 16) and €70 (family ticket). To order tickets contact the boxoffice during office hours on 053-9122144.
