Weekly winners of the cards for turkeys in Hotel Curracloe were Anna Wright and Eamon Lacey. Cards take place every Thursday night at 9 p.m. There is an open draw and all are welcome.

ANNUAL DINNER DANCE

The Shelmalier GAA Club in associatio­n with St Ibar’s camogie club and the Shelmalier Ladies’ Gaelic Football Club will host a dinner dance and presentati­on night this coming Saturday, December 1, at 7.30 p.m. in Hotel Curracloe. A four course meal will be served. Tickets are priced at €25 and available from the Porterhous­e, Castlebrid­ge; Hotel Curracloe and any committee member.

ANNUAL GNERAL MEETING

The Castlebrid­ge Community Developmen­t Co-Op annual general meeting will be held in the Reading Rooms, Castlebrid­ge, on Tuesday, December 11, commencing at 8 p.m.

bingo continues every Sunday in the school hall from 3.30 5 p.m. Congratula­tions to recent splitthe-pot winners Helen and Dennis Redmond, who won €106.50. The next draw takes place tomorrow, Wednesday the 28th. Weekly envelopes (€2 each) can be purchased in the local businesses in Curracloe or at the school.

Best of luck to Alisha Doyle, who will be competing in the National Acrobatic Team finals in the National Indoor Arena on December 1 and best of luck also to Katie Doyle, who will compete in her first all-Ireland Artistic finals in Dublin the same day.

Well done to all of the children from third to sixth classes who took part in Sing out Loud in the National Opera House on Thursday, November 22, Thanks to all involved and to the parents who helped out.

Since the mid-term, pupils from fifth and sixth classes have begun their work on the exciting Junior Enterprise Programme. They hope to be inspired with lots of great ideas and are really looking forward to setting up their own business with all that entails. They hope to become rich not just financiall­y but also in terms of new skills and knowledge.

The Christmas concert will be held on Wednesday, December 19, at 1 p.m. All are welcome to go along to the school hall and get in the festive mood. There will be two Christmas raffles in the school again this year. The main raffle (for adults) will be held after the Christmas concert which takes place on Wednesday, December 19, and the children’s raffle will be held the following day at 1.30 p.m. The staff wish to thank all who donated prizes to the raffle, particular­ly the main sponsors, Patsy Roche (trailer of logs), McCauley’s Chemist (Hamper), Hotel Curracloe and Kehoe’s Agri and DIY Blackwater (Vouchers), Seán Doyle (P & R Fitness Voucher). Shelmalier GAA Club will hold their annual general meeting this Friday, November 30, at Hollymount complex. Refreshmen­ts will be served at 7.30 p.m. The annual general meeting of Shelmalier Coiste na nÓg will take place on Tuesday, December 4, in Hollymount at 7.30 p.m.
