No L plate leads to ban

LACK of an L plate cost Michael Quirke of 10 Ard Munna, Taghmon a fine and 12 month driving ban.

Details of the offence committed at Bosheen in New Ross were given to the District Court on a previous occasion.

The matter was then postponed by the judge who wanted details of Quirke’s licence produced in court.

When the matter was re-called on November 20, there was no sign of either the accused or his licence.

In this circumstance, the judge set a fine of €300 and added the one year disqualification.

In addition, a fine of €300 was imposed for not having a valid motor tax disc displayed.
