-

James Lawlor (40) from Longraigue, Foulksmills attended the District Court to admit a drink drive offence.

He was found asleep at the wheel, with the engine running, at Carrickbyrne on March 24 earlier this year.

He accepted that he was intoxicated at the time and a formal breath test confirmed that he was over the limit.

Lawlor explained that he works as a security guard in Dublin and that he normally drives to work.

He was fined €400 and banned from holding a licence for two years, with the disqualification postponed until January 1. Street; Piotr Praski, 11 Skeffington Street; Debbie Barnes, 24 Devereux Villas; Nick Grey, 10 Radharc na Mara, Newtown Road.

A lesser fine of €100 was marked against Siobhan Rossiter, 49 Cromwellsfort Drive. In each case, the fine came with an order to pay costs of €61.50 costs.
