Des Kiely holds court at launch of new book

-

There was a large turnout in the Book Centre in Wexford for the launch of ‘Famous Wexford People in History’ written by Des Kiely. The book was officially launched by the local historian Nicky Rossiter and is proving very popular.

Among the special guests at the event were Jim Murphy, who still lives in the ancestral home of Beatle George Harrison’s maternal grandfather John Ffrench in Corah just outside Ballycarney. Jim is related to the Ffrench family through marriage. Also present was artist Eileen Cloney who as a six-year-old was at the centre of the Fethard-on-Sea boycott in 1957. Eileen is also a descendant of the 1798 rebel leader General Thomas Cloney whose story also features in the book.
