BEST WISHES TO MATTY FLYNN

We congratulate Matty Flynn on his recent retirement from Glenbrien National School. Over the many years Matty held the dual position of caretaker and cleaner.

He was always committed to the school in all the work he did and he was always flexible as the needs of the school changed. He accompanied classes on school tours and to swimming lessons, organised activities each year at the school Sports Day. He helped to run school concerts and gatherings as well as helping with the preparations for sacramental events.

Matty was always kind to the children and they enjoyed their chats with him. Matty was a great support to the school in the way he brought his family and friends on board when help was needed.

In June 2017, he led a fundraising committee that organised a Big School Fundraising event ‘A Night at the Dogs’. The money raised bought much needed resources for the school.
