Coláiste Abbain parents’ association are hosting an evening of traditional music and Christmas carols on Monday, December 10, at 7.30 p.m. in St Abban’s Church, Adamstown. Music and choir by members of New Ross District Pipe Band and Colaiste Abbain school choir with supporting guests from the community. Tickets are €5 each and are available for purchase from the School, Cullens Gala, Cullens Pub and also at the church door on the night. Your support on the night is appreciated.
ADAMSTOWN TIDY TOWNS
Adamstown Tidy Towns will be selling traditional handmade Christmas wreaths at the upcoming Coláiste Abbain Christmas Fair on Thursday, December 6, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Holly and dry cone wreaths all €10 each. Your support will be appreciated.
FOOD/TOY COLLECTION
Raheen Family Resource Centre is organising a collection of non-perishable food items and new toys to be distributed to families in need on our area this Christmas. If you would like to make a donation you can leave items in to Raheen Childcare Centre or to Raheen FRC in the Parish House before Friday, December 7.
CARDS
The weekly ‘30’ card game continues in the community centre this Friday, December 7, at 9 p.m. Thanks to the ladies for the tea last week. Catering on the night will be Mary Kirwan, Lorna Komsa and Betty Cullen. Proceeds going to parish funds.
Bree-Galbally SPORTS/LEISURE CLUB ANNIVERSARY
The committee of Galbally Sports and Leisure Club would like to invite you to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the opening of the hall on December 8 in the Sports and Leisure Club. Entertainment starts at 9 p.m. and includes music, dancing, and storytelling with instrumental pieces and ballads. Licensed Bar on night. Free entry. Strictly over 18s only.
GALBALLY HALL
The committee of Galbally Sports and Leisure Club have recently secured a grant under the town and Village Renewal Scheme amounting to €100,000 to refurbish the hall and grounds. Members of the community are invited to an EGM on Sunday, December 9, at 5 p.m. to bring new members to the committee to become involved in the refurbishment and development of Galbally Hall.

Calling all runners and walkers to get your runners out and ready for our annual winter Fun Run/ Walk on Saturday, December 29, at 1 p.m. This year we have a 10k and 5k route available for participants. €10 for adults, under-16 €5 and kids go free. A great day out for family with lots of prizes on the day.

Bree Youth Club’s annual Carol Singing in aid of HOPE will take place on after Mass on Saturday, December 22, Hot chocolate and refreshments will be available after the singing on the night.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GROUP WIN AWARD
Congratulations to all those involved in Bree Community Development Group, who received the Leinster second runner-up award in the under 3000 population category in the bank of Ireland Enterprise Awards.
The prizes were presented last Wednesday night in Lyrath House in Kilkenny.

CHRISTMAS FAIR
The Christmas Fair will take place in Clonard Community Centre on Saturday and Sunday, December 8, and 9, 2.30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Visits to Santa, Sleigh Rides, Christmas Wheel-O-Fortune, bric-à-brac, Craft Stalls, Hamper Raffle, Book Stall, Guess the Weight of the cake, tea and Christmas Pudding Served. The Children’s Liturgy Choir will perform on Sunday, December 9, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Admission €5 per child for Santa Visit. Adults Free.

CLONARD GUIDING UNIT
The Clonard Unit will hold their annual Carol Service and raffle in aid of the Wexford Oncology Unit on Tuesday, December 11, at 7 p.m. in Clonard Church. A lot of fun is planned for the girls in the New Year so look out for news of the activities.

LADIES’ GAA
Congratulations to Clonard Volunteer Minor girls who secured their well deserved place in the Minor Division 1 Final V Taghmon/Gusserane on December 8 at 11 a.m., venue to be confirmed. Last Friday evening the town girls travelled out to Ballymurn pitch to play their semi-final under lights v St Martin’s, this was an Absolutely exciting nail biting screamer of a game, 17 young girls played their hearts out from start to finish, they were on top from the start but only by a few points, the girls broke away the last 10 minutes to finish on a brilliant score of 4-11 v St Martin’s 0-10, well done one and all and manager Estelle Sinnott. Best of luck in the final.

Vols at county level with the under-14 county team and Tara Cullinane, who will represent the club also at under-16 level, well done girls and best of luck in the 2019 season. Clonard Volunteer Ladies were shortlisted for this year’s South East Radio Sports Awards in the club of the Year of the category also our two senior players Aoife Tormey and Shirley Roche were shortlisted as Female Football Club Player of the Year, massive thanks to everyone who voted for our busy growing club, this is a great testament to the commitment/motivation given to the club from our busy underage section to senior adult, parents, management and mentors. Congratulation to the Shelmalier GAA Club, who were the well deserved winners and Deirdre McMahon Female Player on the night and also former Clonard ladies member Rianna Jarrett, who was awarded the Female Soccer Player of the year.

This fundraiser is vital for the day to day running of the club and is separate from the development fundraiser.
