GARDAI are continuing to nvestigate a break-in that occurred at a well known public house and music venue on New Year’s Eve.

Wexford Gardai said that the Porter House in Castlebridge was targeted sometime between halfpast midnight and 8.30 a.m. on December 31.

The office area of the premises was ransacked and silver coloured Ford Focus car was also taken from the grounds of the popular pub.

The owner of the Porter House told this newspaper that the car is a courtesy vehicle that is used to taxi customers home if they are over the legal limit to drive themselves.

The vehicle was recovered in the Scarawalsh area of Enniscorthy on January 2, at around 7 p.m.

Pieces of equipment including the cigarette machine and pool table were targeted by the intruders inside the building.

It’s believed that in addition to the car the intruders also made off with a quantity of cash from the premises.

The Gardai are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Wexford Garda Station in confidence on 053-9165200.
