Planning permission granted for 57 houses in Newtown Road area
PLANNING PERMISSION for 57 houses at Ballyboggan off Newtown Road has been granted with conditions.
Garman Properties Ltd applied for permission for the development of 47 detached and 10 semi-detached houses in August of this year. The development is part of the overall phase four development of Coill Aoibhinn, Ard Na Slaine and Phase three of the overall development of the area.
A decision was due on the application by October but further information was requested by Wexford County Council’s planning department, mainly regarding archaeological impact assessment and screening reports relating to the site proximity to the Slaney River Valley Special Area of Conservation. Clarification was also sought in relation to the amount of open space, access and boundary treatment.
In granting the application, planners stated: ‘The principal of residential development is acceptable, the design and layout are consistent with development plan policies and are of a high standard.’
The application was granted with a number of conditions.
