Plan­ning per­mis­sion granted for 57 houses in New­town Road area

PLAN­NING PER­MIS­SION for 57 houses at Bally­bog­gan off New­town Road has been granted with con­di­tions.

Gar­man Prop­er­ties Ltd ap­plied for per­mis­sion for the devel­op­ment of 47 de­tached and 10 semi-de­tached houses in Au­gust of this year. The devel­op­ment is part of the over­all phase four devel­op­ment of Coill Aoib­hinn, Ard Na Slaine and Phase three of the over­all devel­op­ment of the area.

A de­ci­sion was due on the ap­pli­ca­tion by Oc­to­ber but fur­ther in­for­ma­tion was re­quested by Wex­ford County Coun­cil’s plan­ning depart­ment, mainly re­gard­ing ar­chae­o­log­i­cal im­pact as­sess­ment and screen­ing re­ports re­lat­ing to the site prox­im­ity to the Slaney River Val­ley Spe­cial Area of Con­ser­va­tion. Clar­i­fi­ca­tion was also sought in re­la­tion to the amount of open space, ac­cess and bound­ary treat­ment.

In grant­ing the ap­pli­ca­tion, plan­ners stated: ‘The prin­ci­pal of res­i­den­tial devel­op­ment is ac­cept­able, the de­sign and lay­out are con­sis­tent with devel­op­ment plan poli­cies and are of a high stan­dard.’

The ap­pli­ca­tion was granted with a num­ber of con­di­tions.
