House projects to be com­pleted this year

A num­ber of hous­ing de­vel­op­ments in Wex­ford are due to be com­pleted over the com­ing year.

Ten houses cur­rently un­der con­struc­tion in Danescas­tle are due to be com­pleted by July while a fur­ther seven units, lo­cated in Cool­cots, are due to be fin­ished by Septem­ber.

In the Slip­pery Green area of Wex­ford town work on de­vel­op­ing 10 hous­ing units be­gan in April last year and they are ex­pected to be com­pleted by this com­ing April.

Work on a spe­cial needs house in the Castle­moyle area of New Ross has just be­gun while costs have been re­duced in re­la­tion to a stage 3 ap­proved house in Bal­lina­boola.

A Stage 3 ap­proved ten­der was also given in De­cem­ber with re­gard to 18 houses in Tagh­mon while fire safety certs and dis­abil­ity ac­cess certs are be­ing worked on in re­la­tion to 44 hous­ing units at White­rock Hill, Wex­ford.

A Part VIII ap­pli­ca­tion as part of the over­all plan­ning ap­pli­ca­tion for that devel­op­ment was lodged in Septem­ber.

The lo­cal au­thor­ity is also prepar­ing fea­si­bil­ity stud­ies prior to Stage 1 ap­pli­ca­tions re­lat­ing to a fur­ther 88 units across the county in­clud­ing: Daphe View, En­nis­cor­thy (24); Castle­moyle, New Ross (40); Mar­coni Park, En­nis­cor­thy (1), and Wex­ford Street, Gorey (20).
