ATHLETICS

Juvenile indoor athletic training resumed last night at Crossabeg school. First to third class members train from 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. on Monday evenings and from 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. for fourth classes and upwards. Training on Thursday nights only for the older group from 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.

LEINSTER ALL-STAR AWARD

St Killian’s AC juvenile athlete Jack Forde was one of Wexford’s recipients of a Leinster All-Star Award at a special ceremony in Tullamore on Saturday night last. 2018 was a great year for Jack, who won, among others, three gold medals at the Leinster summer track and field championsh­ips, as well as medals in all-Ireland indoors and outdoors and was part of the Irish team that competed for Ireland in the Celtic Internatio­nal meeting which took place in Glasgow.

CHURCH GATE COLLECTION

€326 was taken up at a church gate collection at Crossabeg church last weekend for the Co. Wexford Community Workshop in Enniscorth­y. Thanks to all who supported so generously.

PENNY BANK

The Crossabeg/Ballymurn GAA club distribute­d approximat­ely €180,000 to savers for 2018 from their Penny Bank. The Savings bank will resume again this coming weekend and your collectors in the Crossabeg area are John Foley, Donnacha McDonald and Kathleen Hayes.
