WEDDING BELLS

Congratulations and best wishes to Louise Smyth, Kilrane and Adrian Devereux, Mountpleasant son of Larry and Marie, who were married in Mayglass church during the recent past. We wish them both all the joys, good health and happiness together in the years ahead.

LOTTO

The St Fintan’s GAA Club lotto was not held over the christmas and New Years holiday period and the next draw will take place on January 8 with the jackpot standing at €17,200. A matchthree prize is also up for grabs each week with tickets available from most club members at €1.50 each. The club thanks you for your continued support and wishes you all a very Happy New Year.

INJURED JOCKEY

Mayglass man Jamie Codd suffered a nasty fall from a horse on Limerick racetrack during the recent past. Jamie sustained rib and lung injuries which will keep the top class jockey off the circuit for some time. Jamie is wished a full and speedy recovery by his family, friends, and all those involved in racing.

BEREAVEMENTS

The St Fintan’s GAA Club and all those involved in sport were saddened to learn of the sad passing of two great gaels in London over the holiday period.

One of the best forwards in his time in football with his club and for some 15 years with the Wexford team. Scott Doran died suddenly in his London home just one month short of his 45th birthday.

Former Horeswood man Tommy Harrell also passed away in London during the same period where he was the driving force behind the Fr Murphys GAA Club. If you or your club was to arrive in London you were always assured of a warm welcome and a meeting with the Fr Murphys.

Both were talented but in different ways and the game together with family and friends will miss them sorely. May they rest in peace.

ALL BLACKS AFC

It’s with the deepest sympathy that All Blacks AFC wish to acknowledge the untimely passing of Scott Doran, Kilmore. As can be seen from his exceptional talent in field sports, the All Blacks Club were privileged with his playing contribution. The GAA community, parish and area where Scott grew his inspiration has left no bounds. To Scott’s parents Nick and Pauline, his brother Martin, his wife Geri and his children we extend our deepest sympathy at this very sad time.

At this time starting a new year, we celebrate and remember the wonderful moments one man has made in this world. His friends, family and all his loved ones cherish a fantastic role model. May Scott rest in peace.
