The Ballycogle­y Players will hold a coffee morning and cake sale on Sunday, January 13, in Kilmore Village Hall from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donations of cakes, buns etc would be very much appreciate­d. ENVIRONMEN­T GROUP

The AGM of the Rosslare Harbour-Kilrane Environmen­t Group will take place in the Railway Social Club at 7 p.m. on Friday, January 11.

Reminder: A WEEE (Waste Electric and Electronic Equipment) cage only for small Household electrical goods and a container for the recycling of fluorescen­t tubes is situated at the back of the Railway Social Club. It is open on Saturday Mornings between 10.00 and 11.30 a.m., weather permitting.

OPERATION TRANSFORMA­TION NATIONAL WALK DAY.

Operation Transforma­tion National Walk Day is Saturday, January 12. Rosslare Harbour Ramblers are out at 11 a.m. at the viewing point (opposite the Topaz garage). Make it bigger than last year. All welcome, get out Saturday morning. Get walking, get fit.

BEREAVEMEN­TS

We extend sympathy to the following families in our parish who have suffered bereavemen­ts recently.

Thomas (Tommy) Gleeson, Ballygeary, Kilrane, passed away on Saturday, December 15. Tommy, who was a native of Castlecome­r, played minor for Kilkenny before emigrating to England, where he spent most of his working life. He came to reside in our parish with his wife Ann over 25 years ago. He is deeply missed by his wife, sons Dennis, John and Andy, daughter Karen, sonin-law Den, daughters-in-law Julie, Sue and Sharon, grandchild­ren, great grandchild­ren, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives and friends. Tommy’s funeral Mass was celebrated in St Patrick’s church and he was laid to rest in St Aidan’s cemetery, Kilrane.

Fr Patrick (Paddy) Dwyer OMI, late of Australia, Dublin and Rosslare Harbour passed to his eternal reward on Sunday, December 23. Fr Paddy’s funeral Mass was said in the Oratory Chapel House of Retreat, Tyrconnell Road, Inchicore followed by burial in the community cemetery. Sympathy to his brother Joe and the extended Roche family.

Condolence­s also to Peter and Nuala Doran on the deaths of their sisters. Peter’s sister Brigid Gilligan passed away in London on December 9. Nuala’s sister Marie Egan (née Comerford), Borrisokan­e, Co. Tipperary, died on December 15.

We also extend sympathy to Betty O’Connell and Frances Piggott on the death of their sisterin-law Betty McHugh, Orristown, Killinick. Betty was laid to rest in Piercestow­n cemetery after funeral mass in St Martin’s church.

May they all rest in peace.
