Cooney rescues point for Glynn

Division 2

Glynn Barntown and Adamstown came away with a point apiece after an exciting 2-2 draw in a windswept Wexford Racecourse on Sunday.

Robert Dempsey fired the hosts in front in the first-half, but two goals from Ian White after the interval edged Adamstown in front.

The visitors had the advantage of playing most of the second-half with an extra man after Eoin O’Shea was shown a second yellow card five minutes after the change of ends, but Glynn Barntown kept battling and got their reward when substitute Fionn Cooney plundered the equaliser with ten minutes remaining.

Conor Hearne and Tomás Murphy got the goals for Curracloe United as the seasiders shocked promotion-chasing Ferns United 2-1, while a firsthalf Shane Lawless goal was enough for Crossabeg to edge out Shelburne 1-0.

Seán McGrath and Nicky Sinnott (two) got the goals for Cushinstow­n in their 3-1 win over Taghmon United, with Pascal Waters replying.

Elsewhere, Enniscorth­y United overcame Killenagh Wanderers 3-1 thanks to an own goal, Niall Thorpe and John Whelan.

Division 3

Shamrock Rovers moved to within three points of leaders Gorey Rangers with a 3-0 win in Duncannon on Sunday, with Dylan Shannon, Seán Wildes and Shane Larkin getting their goals.

Alan Browne (two), Richie Browne and Dylan Redmond scored for Wexford Celtic in their 4-2 win over St. Joseph’s, with Seán Furlong replying with a double for the Kilmuckrid­ge men. Enniscorth­y Town saw off Rathnure 2-0 thanks to Joe Hyland and an own goal, while Raheen saw off Bunclody 3-1, with Peter Finn, Enda Wickham and Mark Cowman scoring for the winners and Simon Black replying.

Division 3A

Leaders Forth Celtic added another three points to their tally when beating Wexford Bohs 2-0 on Sunday, with Keith Murphy and Anthony Hayes getting their goals.

Rosslare Strand left it late before edging out Oylegate United, with Gary Collins scoring the only goal of the game from a free-kick in the 85th minute.

Ajax Athletic edged out All Blacks in a five-goal thriller, with Adam Fox, Liam Murphy and Glenn Fortune scoring for the winners and John Codd and Shane Mythen replying.

Shane Whelan (two) and Paul Dempsey got the goals for Ballymurn Celtic in their 3-2 win over Rosslare Rangers, with Rees Broaders and Jamie Tomkins scoring for Rangers.

Jean-Luc Tubritt and Ciarán Dwyer both bagged doubles for Fethard Rangers as theyw overwhelme­d Corach Ramblers 4-1, with Lorcan Breen scoring for the Danescastl­e-based side.

Division 4

Leaders Rosbercon tightened their grip on top spot in Division 4 with a 6-1 win over Curracloe United on Sunday.

Jamie St. Ledger bagged a double for the winners, with Philip O’Connor, Corey St. Ledger, Kevin Doyle and Michael Dowling adding a goal apiece. Coutown Hibs held a 3-2 advantage at the break against Kiltealy Celtic, but ended up losing 5-3.

Campile United and Carne F.C. shared the spoils after a 3-3 draw, with Nigel Dunne, Christophe­r Quinn and Paddy Cardiff scoring for the former and Leigh Aylward, Aaron Corish and Dean Maloney hitting the back of the net for Carne.

Davie Fenlon and Johnny Coughlan bagged two goals apiece as Crossabeg saw off Gorey Celtic 4-0, while The Ballagh United won 4-1 in Ferns with Kevin O’Brien, Ian Storey, Martin Og Storey and Kevin Sinnott hitting the back of the net.

Division 4A

Cloughbawn continue to lead the way in Division 4A after edging out Enniscorth­y United on Sunday. Owen Furlong got the only goal of the game.

Caim United leapfrogge­d St. Joseph’s into second place with a 4-1 win over the Kilmuckrid­ge side. Paudie Lacey netted a hat-trick for the winners, with Bob Spillane adding their other goal and Peter Mitten replying for Joey’s.

Matty Flynn was the match winner for St. Leonards as they edged out Enniscorth­y Town 1-0, while Castledock­rell beat Rosslare Port by the same scoreline, with Shane Mernagh getting the goal. Jamie Murphy got on the scoresheet for Tombrack United but they lost out 2-1 to Killenagh Wanderers.

Division 5

Wexford Bohs moved to the summit of Division 5 with a 4-2 win over All Blacks on Sunday.

Beau Brennan and Chris Downes both bagged doubles for the winners, with Mark Sinnott and Michael O’Brien replying.

John Connors helped himself to a hat-trick for Bunclody in their 6-2 win over Ajax Athletic.

Robert Doran, James Dunne and Seán Taylor also got in on the act, with Ciarán O’Neill and Adam Fox scoring for the Rajahs.

Wexford Celtic also won 6-2, with New Ross Town on the receiving end. Ryan Lynch netted a hat-trick for the Sinnottsto­wn Lane side, with Emmet Sinnott, John Browne and Keith Doyle adding a goal apiece.

Craig Wickham and Nicky O’Neill hit the back of the net for Town.
