How our four leaders are getting on with their training regimes

-

LIAM DOYLE

Hi, it’s Liam here. So after an enjoyable Christmas I couldn’t wait to get started on this journey.

Training is tough going but the encouragement from all the other leaders and motivation from the trainers is great. It’s fantastic to have the use of Pump Palace gym and our nutritionist Martina O’Sullivan has been giving us guidance on where we can be doing better with our food and water intake.

We had our first time trial last week which was tough but you feel so much better in yourself after every training session. So I’d encourage everyone to follow Kevin Murphy and Martina O’Sullivan’s programme.

CAROLINE FLEMING

Here’s my progress so far, Kevin gave us the plan after our first training session (which wasn’t easy I had pains where I never had pains before!). It was easy to follow over the two weeks I was off over Christmas for the cross training – I went back to the Waterfront pool couldn’t quite manage the 30 minutes to begin with but slowly worked up to it.

Back to work this week so

great to be able to use Nolan’s gym for free in the evenings. My work colleagues have organised walking after school Mondays and Wednesdays it’s great having their support!

And Martina has talked through my diet and gave me some great advice. Looking forward to the coming weeks.

HELEN RYAN

It was good to get started this week after all the over-indulgence over Christmas! The training was a bit of shock to the system but getting great energy from it and feeling better already. I’ve found running at a pace that I can maintain for 15 minutes makes it a little easier, walking for two minutes and then start running again.

DENISE FARRELL

The first week went well. Great to get a clear exercise plan to follow and to have guidance on nutrition. My first session in the gym, it was tough but I was surprised at how much I could do. Really enjoyed it.

Nice to have the other leaders there to push you on, even when it means coming back for you to get you to the finish line.

Thanks a mill!
