DRAMA
Bridge Drama Group production of ‘Brighton Beach Memoirs,’ by Neil Simon will open at the National Opera House this January. This heart-warming comedy/drama is the group’s Amateur Drama Circuit of Ireland’s entry for 2019 and is directed by Pat Whelan.
Set in 1937 in Brooklyn, New York, the play centres round Eugene Jerome and his family, as they fight the hard times and sometimes each other with laughter, tears and love. As WWll looms, Eugene guides us through a series of observations that shows his family meeting life’s challenges with pride, spirit and a marvellous sense of humour.
The show runs on January 31, February 1 and 2, February 21, 22 and 23 and February 26. Tickets are priced at €15 each and are available at nationaloperahouse. ie or 053 9122144.

results of the Curracloe United lotto draw for Sunday, January 6, The numbers drawn were 5, 9, 11 and 20. The lucky jackpot winner of €11,250 was John Doyle, Ballyvaloo and the ticket seller was Cloneys supermarket, Curracloe. There were three match-three winners, who received €50 each, Anne Carthy, Yellow Road; Bones Curracloe and Mag Murphy, c/o Christine Keane.
CAMOGIE CLUB NEWS
St Ibar’s/Shelmalier camogie club would like to invite anyone who is interested in being involved in any of their teams from under-six up to senior level to please obtain and fill out the club Expression of Interest form which is available from Mag Murphy, club secretary at 087 7834145. Forms must be returned no later than Friday, January 18.

The annual general meeting of the Over the Water Vintage Club will be held in the club room, Ballymurn hall, on Wednesday, January 23, at 8.30 p.m. Existing members and intending new members are invited to attend.
CURRACLOE SCHOOL NEWS
Congratulations to recent splitthe-pot winner, Callum Connick, who won €98.50. Envelopes are on sale again in the local business in Curracloe, €2 per envelope.
Bingo has resumed in the school hall and takes place every Sunday from 3.30 5 p.m. All are welcome, so why not go along and have some fun.
The Curracloe 5K Fun Run/ Walk takes place on Sunday, February 24, at midday. Registration takes place from 10.30 a.m at the school. Donations gratefully accepted on the day, and all funds raised go to Curracloe national school.
