CAMROSS ICA
Our last meeting was held on Monday, January 7, in Camross Hall. The ladies enjoyed a Mary Kelly recalled our most enjoyable Christmas dinner which took place in the Oak Tree in Foulksmills.
Mary wished everyone a happy new year. The winner of the funniest Christmas card was Berna Cadogan. Breda Nolan and Ann O’Gorman served some truly delicious tea and homemade scones.
This was followed by a most interesting talk from Cliona Connolly, Environmental Awareness Officer for Wexford County Council. She talked about how to reduce waste and recycle plastics in our homes. She told us of the new list of recyclables. Everything that goes in our bins of recyclables must be clean, loose and dry. We learned that most black plastics cannot be recycled and that shredded papers should go in our brown bins. There is a lot of new information on recycling at mywaste.ie. She also gave a great tip on how to do a shopping list: take a picture of the content of your fridge.
Our next meeting will be at 8 p.m. on Monday, February 4, in Camross Hall. The competition will be the ‘6 chocolate chip cookies’.
