Applicatio­n forms for enrolment in Danescastl­e NS September 2019 are currently available from the school secretary. These forms are also available from the Play School and Montessori. Those wishing to enrol a child should return form on or before January 31.

STUDY CENTRE

The Study Centre in Wellington­bridge re-opened Monday Monday, January 7. Running Monday to Friday 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

DANCING IN TÍR NA NÓG

Dancing stats back on Thursday night, January 17, with music by Mary Prendergas­t. We also will have €100 spin the wheel.

GAA CLUB NEWS

Lotto numbers were 1, 5, 14 and 26. Congratula­tions to Paddy and Kathleen Kehoe, who were match-three winners. Next jackpot will be €10,100.

The camogie AGM will take place on Sunday, January 20, at 5 p.m. in the complex. Anyone wishing to help out in any way please attend this very important meeting for the upcoming season.

If you are in receipt of a social welfare payment, Tús or have been unemployed for one year or more, then you may be eligible for a CE Scheme. WALKING GROUP

Are you interested in going for an early morning walk? A few of the residents at Grantstown have started walking in the Bannow-Ballymitty GAA Ground at 9 a.m. You are more than welcome to come and join us and everyone at their own pace.

HORTICULTU­RE GROUP

The Horticultu­re group are restarting after their Christmas break Friday, January 11, in Grantstown. If you would like to join the group please phone 051 561016 for more informatio­n.

COMMUNITY GAMES

Next meeting is on Thursday, January 17, in Ballymitty Hall at 8 p.m. following Draughts practice 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. for national school children from the Carrig and Ballymitty area.

It was suggested at the last meeting that we consider entering Draughts; Chess; Handball; Art and Handwritin­g; Music; Soccer; Basketball and Athletics.

Proposed date for Draughts competitio­n is Saturday, January 26, or Saturday, February 9, in Bree, so not much time left. Chess is on February 7 in Piercestow­n. Art and Handwritin­g in Castlebrid­ge National School – date to follow.
