Shoplifting case adjourned
A WOMAN with a long list of previous convictions was held responsible at the District Court for the disappearance of €240 worth of goods from McCauley’s in Redmond Square, Wexford.
Mary Ward (29) from 1A Glen Terrace, Waterford, was apprehended as one of three who stole the haul, which included Gillette Mach 3 razor blades, on July 27 in 2016.
The unemployed defendant had similar theft convictions on her record from courts in Waterford, Cork, Carrick-on-Suir, Youghal, Wexford and Gorey. Her solicitor pointed out that she had not come to garda attention since last May.
A plea of guilty was tendered and Judge John Cheatle decided to adjourn pending production of a community service report.
