O’Connor to lead Cairde Loch Garman
THE WEXFORD G.A.A. Supporters’ Club and Club Wexford have been brought together under one new, unified brand: Cairde Loch Garman.
It’s key purpose is to provide fundraising support to all levels of Wexford G.A.A. activity from shed blitzes and Hurling 365, to growing games in our urban centres, to the Senior football and hurling teams.
It will build on the activities previously led by the Wexford Supporters’ Club and Club Wexford which included key fundraising initiatives such as the annual golf classic, dog night and pre-match dinners.
Cairde Loch Garman membership is just €25 a year and this includes: advance access to purchase tickets for inter-county championship matches; advance notification of Senior team selections; car sticker and discounts in participating stores across the county including Hore’s Stores, Byrne’s Bookshop, Brian Walsh Hurleys, Riverside Park Hotel, and Joyces Expert Wexford .
Former Senior county hurler and footballer David O’Connor has been appointed Chairman of Cairde Loch Garman, and the St. Anne’s clubman said: ‘Wexford’s supporters are renowned for the passion that they bring to following their teams.
‘There is nothing quite like the atmosphere they create on big days in the likes of Wexford Park, Nowlan Park and Croker.
‘Even though they mightn’t say it, players feed off this and it is certainly a huge lift during games when the pressure is on.’
You can become a Cairde Loch Garman member and play your part in supporting the county teams, helping to make the difference in the process.
Memberships are available to buy online from the Wexford G.A.A. website (http://www. wexfordgaa.ie/cairde-loch-garman/) or in Innovate Wexford Park on Sunday, February 17, at the Wexford versus Tipperary hurling league game.
