Students lend a hand to Wexford Tidy Towns team
STUDENTS from St Peter’s College and the Presentation Secondary School mucked in and did their bit as they gave Wexford Tidy Towns a helping hand to clean up Brendan Corish Gardens. The group of volunteers managed to collect a total of 54 bags of rubbish in just two hours and received great praise for their efforts.
The students got involved through their AIB Build a Bank Challenge, which is a nationwide competition for transition years to establish a student bank within their school. The St Peter’s committee of Seán Óg Flanagan, Mark Finucane, Gianni Forte, Morogh O’Flaherty, Mark Henebery and Cillian Boggan were selected to operate the bank and have chosen community involvement as their project focus.
As a result, they arranged to throw on some gloves and join up with the Presentation’s Build a Bank team for a big clean-up.
The groups from both schools are aiming to continue working closely with Wexford Tidy Towns in the future.
