The local round of the quiz – which this year celebrates its 28th anniversary attracted entries from 29 schools who put forward 56 different teams.
Chairman of Enniscorthy Credit Union, Nick Cosgrave, said that the quiz is more than just a promotional event.
‘One of our operating principles refers to social responsibility and contributing to the education of our members and potential members,’ said Mr Cosgrave.
‘With this event we are encouraging local children to work together and see what they are capable of achieving as part of a team,’ he added.
The quizmaster was Liam Waters who had everyone under starter’s orders at 3 p.m.
There were two sections on the day; one for under-11s and one for under-13s.
The winner and the runner-up in each category will now compete at the Chapter level of the competition in early March.
Chapter winners will then go through to the grand final in the RDS, Dublin, on Sunday, April 7.
