AFTERNOON TEA PARTY

An Afternoon Tea Party and cake sale will be held at Kyle Forge on Saturday next, February 23, from midday till 3 p.m. There will also be a raffle. All proceeds in aid of Crossabeg Parish centre.

COMMUNITY FIELD NEWS

The portacabin changing rooms have been nicely refurbishe­d at the community field at Garrywilli­am. Thanks to Seán Redmond for all his hard work. All users are kindly asked to help maintain them in good order. Thanks also to Dermot Neville for looking after repairs to the driveway. As the weather improves, activity is picking up. All donations to the ‘honesty box’ are welcome. Proceeds are used to maintain lighting at the walking track.

CHURCH NEWS

Adoration every Monday from 1 p.m till 7.20 p.m. with Mass at 7.30 p.m. Adoration then continues after Mass till 9 p.m. Applicatio­ns are now available for the Invalid section of the 51st Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes which takes place this year from May 11 to May 16.

COMMUNITY GAMES

The 2019 season is about to get under way and there is a very busy programme ahead for the May Festival. The local committee are seeking entries for the following events: handball, swimming, art, handwritin­g, soccer, debating, projects, table quiz and all the stage events, music, singing, dancing, culture corner, drama etc.

All schools in the area have been notified of these events, but if there are children out there (who are attending secondary schools) and who would like to compete in any of the above) please contact Anne at 086 1980775 or Adrian at 085 8177210. You must get in touch within the next week or so, to be in with a chance of representi­ng your area in your chosen event.

ARTRAMON OPEN DAY

Reserve Sunday, May 19 for the annual Open Day at Artraman House and gardens.There will be lots of good music and refreshmen­ts will be on offer too. More details to follow at a later date.
