BOOK LAUNCH

You are invited to attend the launch of Jim McGovern’s Book – Stand up and Speak Out, Memoir of a Public Speaking and Debating Coach, by Enda Brady of Sky News, which takes place on Wednesday, February 20, at 7 p.m., in the Riverside Park Hotel, Enniscorth­y.

SWIMMING CLUB

Wexford Swimming Club is holding an open assessment evening on Friday, February 22, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Wexford Swimming Pool for seven- to 10-yearold children interested in bringing their swimming to the next level.

Kids should be able to swim one length without stopping and preferably have completed their swim lessons.

Committee members and club swimmers will be available to answer any questions about our club while our coaches will assess the kids.

Please email secretary@wexfordswi­mmingclub.ie to book a place at the assessment. (Number of places are limited)

Please sign in at 5.50 p.m. and be ready to go on deck at 6 p.m. Don’t forget your togs, hat and goggles.

Barntown Community Children’s Playground Fund is hosting ‘A Night of Bingo’ which will be held in Mary-Jo’s on Friday, March 1. Some great prizes will be up for grabs and an entertaini­ng evening is assured. Bingo starts at 8.30 p.m. All welcome – see you there.

PILGRIMAGE

A special Christian Solidarity Pilgrimage to the Holy Land takes place from October 1 to October 9. It will include visits to Bethlehem, Nazareth, Jerusalem and other holy sites. GAA NEWS

CODE OF BEHAVIOUR COURSE – Glynn-Barntown will be running Code of Behaviour courses in the next few weeks – dates to be confirmed. Remember it is compulsory to complete this course in order to be involved in any capacity with underage teams.

NB – if you have attended this course more than five years ago you must complete a refresher course as new guidelines are now in place. Please contact Paschal at 087 7783112 to register interest so we can get an idea of numbers.
