COMMUNITY LOTTO

Congratula­tions to our one lucky winner of last week’s jackpot of €18,200. The winning numbers were 5, 11, 16 and 32. There were five match-three winners who received €40 each. The winners were Ray McCoy, Trish Stafford, Lena Kelly, Liam Walsh, Ciara Sutherland. The next lotto draw will be held on Tuesday, February 19, and the jackpot now stands at €3,000.

PJ McCall Musical Evening, Wednesday, March 6, marks the day of PJ McCall’s death, a century ago, in 1919, and the day of his birth in 1861. To mark the double event, a musical evening will take place at Rathangan Bar on Wednesday, March 6, from 8 p.m. Events will include songs, music and stories of PJ McCall, along with memories of the Eigse PJ McCall, that so enlivened Rathangan from 1981-1986. This promises to be a great night for young and old. Admission Free.

TABLE QUIZ

Duncormick Area Action Group and Tidy Towns Committee will hold a table quiz in Sinnott’s Pub on Friday, March 8, at 9 p.m. Tables €20. Refreshmen­ts served.

We extend sympathy to Liz White, Killag on the death of her mother, Margaret Murphy Ballyhiho, Tacumshin last week. May she rest in peace.

It’s that time of year again, when we begin preparatio­ns for the Tidy Towns Competitio­n. Please help us in keeping the village and environs clear of litter. We will have the first clean-up in March, more details to follow.
