Last weekend was day one and two of the Leinster Juvenile Indoor Championships which were held at AIT International Stadium, Athlone. Maeve Hayes had a great series of jumps in the under-18 Long Jump where she took Gold and retained her Leinster Title with a fine jump of 5.21cm. Danika Gilshinan took to the track for under-17 800m, this was a straight final and in a competitive field Danika ran a great race finishing in second place. Ciara Martin also on the track in the under-16 800m ran a great heat qualifying for the final and in a very strong field finished in sixth place. Wednesday was the Leinster Schools Cross Country Championships in Santry and Ciara was representing Presentation Wexford in the Intermediate 3000km, this was a very strong field and Ciara’s first year moving up to intermediate, she competed well but unfortunately did not qualify for the all-Ireland’s. Congratulations and well done to all three girls.

Training and site visits – The Village Development team have been very busy behind the scenes working on the various projects and have visited community groups in Bree and Kilanerin recently to learn from what they have achieved. Members of the group have also been attending training sessions on various aspects of town and village renewal.
