Community Games Art and Handwritin­g competitio­ns both take place in Glynn Hall on Saturday, March 9.

The art competitio­n starts at midday and is for the following age groups: under-eight, under-10, under-12, under-14 and under-16.

The Handwritin­g event commences at 2 p.m. and is for ages under-10 and under-12. Plenty of time to get in more practice. Good luck to all.

Registrati­on for Community Games Chess, Draughts, Gymnastics, Swimming, Talent and table quiz also takes place on Saturday, March 9, in Glynn Hall commencing at 11.30 a.m. Be sure to get your name.

BARNTOWN BINGO BONANZA.

The Barntown Community Children’s Playground Fund Committee are looking forward to welcoming you all to our Bingo Night on Friday, March 1, starting at 8.30 p.m. in Mary Jo’s.

We have some lovely spot prizes up for grabs and are all really looking forward at getting everyone together to help raise funds for our exciting new Play Park. Your support would be greatly appreciate­d.

Many thanks to all who supported our Valentine’s Day Tea Party. A special thanks to the fundraisin­g committee who organised it and the pupils in the school who decorated the hall, sent invitation­s and served on the day. We raised €1,246.

Community Games: Community Games will be holding an art and Handwritin­g area final on March 9 in Glynn Hall.

Mini Sevens: Congratula­tions to all three of our mini sevens teams who have qualified for the next phase which will be played later this week.

Split-the-pot: Congratula­tions to John Taaffe, who won €208 on the split-the-pot. The next split-the-pot will be on Monday, March 4, at 8 p.m. in the school. Be in to win.

Wexford Water Safety’s AGM will take place on March 2 at 7.30 p.m. in the Talbot Hotel, Wexford.

COISTE NA NÓG

Congratula­tions to our Junior A Hurling team who were presented with their medals last weekend – captain JJ Doyle addressed the crowd on the night thanking Manager Paul Laffan and selectors Tom Dempsey and John Barron and the dedicated panel. Congratula­tions again lads.

GAA DEVELOPMEN­T DRAW RESULTS

On Saturday, February 16, our hugely successful Developmen­t Draw came to an end with our long time sponsor John Doyle of the Cleary Doyle group drawing out the 10 winning tickets to a packed crowd in the clubhouse. We were delighted to also have Tony Dempsey, mayor of Wexford and Co GAA Board chairman Derek Kent present. MC Tom Dempsey welcomed the crowd along with club chairman John Cooney.

We’d like to thank the three main groups who were integral to the success of the endeavour-the Steering committee John Cooney, Lorcan Doyle, Danny O’Brien, Angela Finn, Suzanne Goff and Loraine O’Brien, the group of incredibly hard working coordinato­rs who kept the momentum going with their sellers and the sellers themselves who went out in all sorts of weathers week after week driving the length and breadth of the county and beyond.

GAA CLUB LOTTO

The lotto draw which took place on Wednesday, February 20, Numbers drawn were 19, 25, 29 and 32. There was no jackpot winner and on this occasion, nor were there any match-three winners.

Next draw will take place in Declan’s on Wednesday, March 6. Jackpot now stands at €2,400. Good luck to all – be in to win.
