Beach car parks remain closed
Wexford County Council is preparing to open beaches and other public outdoor spaces as part of the first phase of the Government’s Roadmap to Recovery but beach car parks will remain closed until further notice as access is still restricted to people living within a 5km radius.
Preparations include the erection of lifeguard huts, repairs and improvements to public toilets, Covid-19 regulation signage and the recruitment and training of beach lifeguards and litter patrol staff.
Public health restrictions such as two-metre social distancing will apply in outdoor amenities. A Council spokesman said the local authority understands the concerns of members of the public who have been unable to visit the county’s public beaches and other amenities during the Covid-19 pandemic.
