BUFFERS ALLEY GAA

BUFFERS ALLEY KEEP ACTIVE – Buffers Alley camogie club are running online zoom active and wellness classes for six weeks starting Tuesday, January 19, at 7 p.m. Suitable for all fitness levels and open to all: men, women and children, members and non-members.

Family rate is €45 for six weeks, Single rate €30 for six weeks or €5 per class. Check out Buffers Alley Club on social media for timetable and more details. Contact Sinéad Kenny at 087 2318616 to sign up.

MEMBERSHIP – Yearly Membership payment options are now available through our online platform Clubforce.

In addition to the player membership, it is hoped that as many people as possible register for the Social/Non-Player option. You may also join up by contacting any of the club officers who will assist you with the process.

RACE WEEK – We’re going Racing, but on this occasion, it has to be a virtual event. You may buy a horse for €10 through Revolut (087 2161995). Text your name and the name of your horse to Colm Hearne (087 8384194). Join the races Whatsapp group where horse owners will be informed of the day of their race. Races will be live streamed daily on this App.

Whatsapp group is beginning Monday, January 25. Winning horses from the week will qualify for the big Cheltenham race night on Saturday, January 30, where five races will be live streamed on YouTube.

If your horse doesn’t get over the finishing line in first place during the week, fear not – all losing horses will be entered into a draw to qualify for the remaining three big races.

CLUB MONTHLY DRAW TICKETS – As we have moved into 2021, the annual monthly draw tickets are in circulatio­n via the regular promoters or you may choose the online option by downloadin­g the ClubForce App. It just takes a few minutes to set up. With other major events put on hold due to Covid, this is the primary fundraiser for the year. The draw takes place on the last Thursday of the month with €650 paid out in prizes.

WALKING TRACK – Our community walking track has become a very popular venue for people of all ages to walk, jog or run in a safe environmen­t. The track extending around the perimeters of our three pitches is lit up from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily seven days of the week and a warm welcome is extended to everyone in the community.

During these Covid times, everyone is asked to observe social distancing.
