WELL DONE!
Congratulations to the Boolavogue Development Committee, who have managed to secure almost €98,000 from the Department of Rural and Community Development to bring their plans for the development of the ‘Old School’ to fruition.
The committee, under the chairmanship of Barry Turner, have been working away quietly for over three years with a view to helping develop amenities in Boolavogue. With the money secured, they plan to restore and refurbish the ‘Old School’ and turn it into a combined Digital Hub and community center. The building will be fully refurbished and the wasteland at the back, known as ‘The Master’s Bog’, will be landscaped as an ecological garden.
They are very grateful for the help of Brian Foran in developing this idea and for the detailed plans he helped them develop. They are also very thankful to the local politicians, especially TD Paul Kehoe and Cllr Pip Breen, who offered great advice, guidance and assistance.
Well done to Barry and the committee, Niall Finn, Cormac O’Loughlin, Dermot Breen, Aidan Gahan, Dorothy Hall, Caroline Farrington, Louise Farrington, Maria O’Loughlin, Murth Walsh, Oliver Gahan and Paddy O’Dowd on securing such a substantial investment in Boolavogue’s future.
