Monart manager set to run in local elections

-

THE latest candidate to be announced for the Wexford Independent Alliance (WIA) says he will bring a strong voice to poorly represented areas in the Wexford Borough District (WBD). Confirming his intention to run for election in this summer’s locals, Castlebridge native Dave Ryan said there are large swathes of his district which have suffered since the boundaries were redrawn in 2019.

“The population across the bridge in Wexford has grown exponentially over the last 10 years and since the drawing of the new political boundaries these areas have been poorly represented, particularly Castlebridge which now has more than 2000 residents,” he said. “If elected I will give a strong voice to all voters in the WBD, I will bring into sharp focus the requirements and wants of the residents of Crosstown, Curracloe, Castlebridge and Crossabeg. These areas in particular need a local councillor.”

An accomplished sportsman, who represented Castlebridge and the Shelmeliars GAA club in the World Championship handball series in Alberta, Canada, Dave is a lifetime member of Bridge Rovers. In addition, he has organised charity darts tournaments to raise funds for Crumlin Children’s Hospital in the past. On a professional level, he has previously worked in South East radio and the Riverbank House Hotel and is the current manager of Monart Spa.

“I believe I have the drive and energy to provide a strong representation,” Dave continued. “I was born and reared in Castlebridge, I understand and will effectively articulate the requirements of Wexford people to deliver effectively for them. I look forward to campaigning in the weeks ahead and I believe on election day, with your support, I will be elected”.

Commenting on Dave Ryan’s candidature, Independent TD for Wexford and Wexford Independent Alliance conveyor, Verona Murphy said, “I am delighted to endorse Dave Ryan’s candidature for the upcoming local elections in the WBD. The family are extremely well-known and in my view, Dave will be an extremely popular candidate. The Crosstown, Castlebridge, Curracloe, Crossabeg side of WBD needs strong political representation and I believe, if elected, Dave will be a fearless advocate for the requirements of the people of this area and indeed the entire WBD. With your support I expect Dave to be elected comfortably on June 7.”
