PICKLEBALL - Pickleball is proving to be hugely popular here in Rosslare, not least because it can be played in any weather! SOCIAL EVENINGS

Our very popular get togethers are back in the diary for 2024. However there will be no meetings held during the month of April. May dates are already set at 7th and 21st. All are welcome. Contact the Centre on 9132202 for more information

ACTIVE RETIREMENT ASSOCIATION

Our recent trip to Malahide Castle and Gardens was a great success with a meal in the Ashdown Park hotel on the return journey.

We are now looking forward to a three night break in The Falls Hotel in Ennistymon at the end of this month. This trip is fully booked so all we need now is good weather and we remain optimistic about that.

In May we have a trip to Farmleigh House and the Tenement Museum in Dublin and again this is booked up. In the following months we travel to Powerscourt House and Gardens and Avoca shop and cafe and later in the summer we go on The Barrow Princess to Waterford.

Further trips later in the year will be advised on our WhatsApp group before we head to Montenegro in October.

On 4th June at 11am we will have a speaker from The Irish Alzheimer’s Society coming to give a talk in The Parish Centre (the old convent) next to the Church. This is an open meeting and if anyone in the community is interested in this talk they are more than welcome to come along as it’s not confined to Active Retirement Members.

In the meantime our coffee mornings continue each Tuesday at 10.30am in Coast Hotel where all are welcome in particular potential new members.

SPLIT THE POT

This week’s Split the Pot winner was Jim Doyle. Jim bought his envelope in Cushens Pub in Tagoat and wins €121. Our next draw will be Friday 19th April.

MARCONI EVENT

A reminder to all interested about the special event in Rosslare on Saturday 27th April to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the birth of Guglielmo Marconi.
