GERRY RETURNS TO FERRYASSIC PARK.

Sunday afternoon last saw quite a spectacle around Ferrycarrig as Gerry the Giraffe made a long awaited return to his place of pride at Ferrycarrig Home Bank. Having been absent due to injury for some months Gerry was finally given all clear by zoologists Bailey and Ruby who had been monitoring his well-being all along. The logistics of his return was indeed a spectacle moving him from Sinnott’s Hill down along the road and under the railway bridge with Gerry pausing now and then to munch a few leaves from high branches of overhanging trees. Traffic management was carried out by numerous members of Ferrycarrig Rowing Club along with neighbours and friends. Indeed, motorists had to see for themselves to believe that a slight holdup was actually caused by a giraffe. A slight delay was occurred in getting Gerry to lean down enough to get under the Railway bridge which was eventually managed by experts Declan, Louise and Davy. Finally Gerry is back in place, and can be seen by all on the Home Bank, along with Nelly the Elephant and Stephen the Stag. After the ordeal, a debriefing session was hosted by Bernie after such a successful mission. The entire event was recorded by numerous photographs, and videos from the air by drones etc which deserve to go viral on social media. A big thank you to all who took part.
