Yes Chef awards for Co Wexford restaurant­s

A NUMBER of Co Wexford restaurant­s are celebratin­g following success at this year’s Yes Chef Ireland Awards.

About 30 prizes were handed out at the event held in The Fairways, Dundalk.

Table Forty One in Gorey won Irish Culinary Experience of the Year in Leinster, best Casual Fine and Leinster Chef of the Year for owner Andrew Duncan.

Having worked in various hotels and restaurant­s around the world, Gorey native Duncan returned home to open this classy restaurant on Gorey’s Main Street. Andrew started his career as a chef and has worked in some of the finest Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant­s in Ireland, New Zealand, Canada and The UAE since then. He strives to use the best local and seasonal ingredient­s and the restaurant maintains a relaxed atmosphere while also treating guests to a fine-dining experience.

Duncan personalis­es the dining experience as he changes the menu on a weekly basis.

Seafood Restaurant of the Year in Leinster went to multi award winning, La Cote on The Quay, Wexford town.

The Leinster Newcomer of the Year award went to Sealord in Redmond Square, Wexford town, with The Holy Grail in Irishtown, New Ross, winning Best Leinster Indian restaurant.

For the second year running, 10 Nine Burger food truck won Best Street food in Leinster.

Owner Aaron Doyle from New Ross is celebratin­g again having scooped the award.

Since opening ‘10 Nine’ at the Hillside Bar just off the Campile Road near New Ross in July 2022, Doyle has seen his business take off.
