Students raise money for Tanzanian children
STAFF and students at Colaiste Craobh Abhann made a presentation of €1,300 recently to Dr Trish Scanlan.
Bray native Trish works for an NGO based in Tanzania that supports children and their families who have been diagnoses with cancer.
Dr Scanlan has been the main driving force in setting up child cancer services in Dar es Salamm.
The students held a Christmas jumper non-uniform day at the school to support her work and the charity.
Mr Rice and the student council organised the fundraiser. Money raised will help support the important work done by this charity and will help to save children’s lives.
The Tanzanian based NGO’s name, Tumaini La Maisha, means hope for life. In the UK and in Ireland the NGO is called ‘Their lives matter’.
