Thir­teen sketches and acts at ICA’s Glenealy drama fes­ti­val

THE 64th Wick­low ICA Drama Fes­ti­val will fea­ture a wealth of talent from the Gar­den County and parts of Dublin.

The fes­ti­val runs over three nights in Glenealy Vil­lage Hall from Jan­uary 18 to 20.

There are two sec­tions in the fes­ti­val. Sec­tion A is for one act plays or a sin­gle act from a full length play and Sec­tion Bis ded­i­cated to sketches.

On Fri­day, Jan­uary 18, Del­gany ICA will per­form The Syn­di­cate, a one act play writ­ten by Maeve Ed­wards. Bal­ly­coog ICA will per­form a short play by Thomas Clare called Ear to the Ground, while the en­tries on the night from Del­gany Dra­matic So­ci­ety will in­clude a one-act drama from Agatha Christie called The Pa­tient and a short play by Dorothy Rob­bie ti­tled A Mem­o­rable Oc­ca­sion. Ballinteer Drama has en­tered a short play by Tony Dee­gan named Oedi­pus Con­flict.

Ash­ford ICA will pro­duce Tow­path by Robert Iles on Saturday, Jan­uary 19, while Clooney Quin ICA will en­ter A Will on the Side by Anita O’Lough­lin. Dalkey Play­ers will per­form a short sketch by Em­met Driver called Khora: A Space Be­tween Time. The other en­tries on the night will be Ocean View by Avoca ICA and the one act com­edy Late En­try by Bray Arts.

The four re­main­ing en­tries take to the stage on the fi­nal night, Sun­day Jan­uary 20m and will in­clude a one act com­edy by Ge­orge Kelly ti­tled The Flat­ter­ing Word which will be per­formed by Balally Play­ers, a short play and one art drama per­formed by St Pa­trick’s Dra­matic So­ci­ety called Black Out Num­ber and In Room Five Hun­dred and Four and a Party Time sketch per­formed by Ash­ford ICA and writ­ten by Eileen Bran­don.

Tick­ets cost­ing €10 are avail­able at the door. The ad­ju­di­ca­tor will be Anna Walker.
