Any­one hop­ing to get an early start on get­ting Christ­mas or­ders or Christ­mas gift shop­ping will be happy to know that all the Satur­days from now on are Christ­mas Mar­kets and they are likely to find that un­usual some­thing for that some­one spe­cial in their life, with­out the stress and pres­sure as­so­ci­ated with this time of year. Do your­self a favour and visit the com­mit­ted crafts peo­ple and food pro­duc­ers for a wel­come coun­try style shop­ping ex­pe­ri­ence. Re­lax over a freshly brewed McCabe or­ganic cof­fee and choose a tasty from the Menu at the open fire at the Pav­il­ion Café.

AC­TIVE RE­TIRE­MENT

The bus for the Na­tional Con­cert Hall on Satur­day, Novem­ber 17, will leave Law­less’ Ho­tel at 10.30 a.m. Our fi­nal mag­a­zine our 20th is­sue is now avail­able. We are now seek­ing a new ed­i­tor. Many thanks to Anne for the amaz­ing work and ded­i­ca­tion to this pub­li­ca­tion over the past year’s. There will be no meet­ing in De­cem­ber.

Dates: Sat 24 and Satur­day, Novem­ber 25.Satur­day the fifth and Jan­uary 26, 2019 (10 p.m. to 5 p.m.) each day. Fee: €75 for each one day mod­ule. There are four mod­ules in to­tal. Ann is cer­ti­fied by the Jade Sun School to fa­cil­i­tate this Pro­gram. She is also a reg­is­tered So­lar Sound Heal­ing Prac­ti­tioner and Tai Chi and Qi Gong in­struc­tor.

NEW TO YOU THRIFT SHOP

We are ap­peal­ing for do­na­tions of saleable goods – bricà-brac, cloth­ing, small pieces of fur­ni­ture toys etc. If you have some­thing that you have no fur­ther use for but feel it would suit some­one else please do­nate. The sale of the goods goes to- wards the up­keep of the Pav­il­ion, Fish­ing Park and the vil­lage of Aughrim. CLEAN UP AND PAINT

Clean Up and paint ses­sions take place ev­ery Satur­day and Sun­day from 11 p.m. to 2 p.m. Meet at Ti­nakilly Bridge. The project is to be com­pleted by Novem­ber 28.

CHRIST­MAS FAIR

On Sun­day, De­cem­ber 2, the well es­tab­lished Christ­mas Fair or­gan­ised by the Aughrim Busi­ness As­so­ci­a­tion will take place in Law­less’ Ho­tel from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Many small lo­cal busi­nesses present their crafts and ser­vices and at­tract a lot of cus­tomers. The num­bers: 2, 9, 12 and 23 were drawn in the sports club lotto on Mon­day last, Novem­ber 5, The jack­pot was not won. Match-three win­ners were Anne New­some c/o Bobby, Tim Howard, Niall Byrne, Sinéad Kee­gan and Peggy Car­roll. The jack­pot is €3,750.

COLÁISTE BHRÍDE DOES STRICTLY

Coláiste Bhríde’s Strictly Come Danc­ing will take place on Novem­ber 15 at 8 p.m. Tick­ets will be avail­able in the school, from the PTA, from any of the dancers or by phon­ing 086 8500607 be­tween 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Tick­ets will also be on sale in Gre­gan’s shop, Cool­boy, Ti­na­hely post of­fice, and Aughrim post of­fice.
