Maura cel­e­brates her mile­stone 80th

THERE was great ex­cite­ment in Cool­gre­any re­cently as John­stown Lower woman Maura Rush was the toast of the town as she cel­e­brated her 80th birth­day.

A very well known woman in her com­mu­nity, Maura was sur­rounded by many of her rel­a­tives and friends for a party in the Cool­gre­any Inn.

Maura was de­lighted to be joined by her five chil­dren for the oc­ca­sion - triplets Veron­ica, Kevin and Oliver and Christo­pher and John, their part­ners and fam­i­lies.

Many of Maura’s 26 grand­chil­dren were also there and she is also a proud great-grand­mother.

Guests trav­elled from around Wick­low and from Dublin to share Maura’s spe­cial night which meant so much to her.

One of the perks of be­ing head of a mu­si­cal fam­ily was that Maura en­joyed en­ter­tain­ment on the night cour­tesy of her son John while many other rel­a­tives sang a song or two.

Maura thanked ev­ery­one for com­ing along to her cel­e­bra­tion and said that she as de­lighted to en­joy such a lovely night with her near­est and dear­est.
