FRIEDREICH’S ATAXIA CARDS
This year’s Christmas cards for Friedreich’s Ataxia research have just gone on sale. There are lots of new designs and hopefully there should be something to suit all tastes. They are great value at 15 Irish made cards for €8 of which €5 goes directly to the charity. They are available at all the following outlets – Dunlavin: Centra, Whelan’s Pharmacy, Dunlavin Health Centre and the Parish Centre. Donard: John OKeeffe and Cafe. Baltinglass: Murphy Sherrin Veterinary. Kilcullen: Berney’s Pharmacy. Blessington: McGreal’s Pharmacy.
The Friedreich’s Ataxia organisation (www, faraireland.ie) has supported two different research projects during 2018 to the tune of €14,000. They are hoping that with your support they may be able to co-fund a further project before the end of the year. Cards can also be got directly by emailing marykear[email protected]

PARISH HISTORY BOOK
A new book by Chris Lawlor entitled ‘With Much Quiet Fervour’ on the history of Dunlavin Catholic Parish and St Nicholas of Myra Church was launched at the harvest festival. The book is now on sale in the parish office, at the back of the church, Ed’s Fruit and Veg and Whelan’s Pharmacy.
The 80 paged book costs €5 and would be of interest to people both within and beyond the parish. It would also make a very nice gift to send to locals who are living abroad. All proceeds from the sale of the book go to the parish. Would make a great little Christmas present for a loved one.
