Fair Trade+ to hold info event
Confused about what can go in your recycle bin? Unsure of what items are accepted for free at Rampere Landfill and Recycling Centre? Wondering how to reduce waste? Don’t worry, you are not alone. But help is at hand. Baltinglass Fair Trade+ continues its ‘Stand4fairness-4-the-environment’ campaign with a quirky little event next Saturday, December 1.
With the new bin collection charges now implemented, it is important to recycle but it is even better to reduce our waste. There is a danger too of increased illegal dumping, damaging the good work done by the many Pure Mile teams in the locality. Now more than ever there is a need for information on how to tackle waste, on our doorstep and globally.
So, drop into G2 (Main Street/ Church Lane corner) in Baltinglass next Saturday, any time between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
With Christmas now less than a month away you may like to discuss ideas about more environment-friendly Christmas gifts and less environment-damaging gift wrapping. You may want to ask questions or give feedback on the new Fair Trade+ information boards. Or you may like to talk to people about the local Pure Mile initiatives and how the Refill. ie and Conscious Cup projects are spreading awareness and giving pause for thought. You might even like to have a hot Fairtrade cuppa while you circulate. You will be very welcome.
