Next meet­ing takes place on Wed­nes­day, No­vem­ber 28, at 3 p.m. in Ger­maines. New mem­bers are very wel­come. Mem­bers kindly re­turn Babushka Boxes at this meet­ing as there will not be any meet­ing in De­cem­ber. Cof­fee morn­ings for De­cem­ber will be held in Bia Blasta each Fri­day at 11 a.m.

Balt­in­glass Ac­tive Re­tire­ment is host­ing a Christ­mas party for se­nior cit­i­zens and Ac­tive Re­tired mem­bers on Tues­day, De­cem­ber 4, in Ger­maines. Please ar­rive at 12.30 p.m. for the meal at 1 p.m. Tick­ets cost €15 and are avail­able from com­mit­tee mem­bers, or by con­tact­ing Mary at 086 0629435. Mu­sic will be per­formed by Jackie Byrne.

Also, con­grat­u­la­tions to An­drew Tutty (first), Jack Con­dell (se­cond) and Ben Lan­don (Highly Com­mended) in the 5-8 years cat­e­gory for ‘Fruit and Veg­etable Weird An­i­mal’. Well done to Adam Bourne (first), Tessa Fox (se­cond) and Angelina Frak­agh (Highly Com­mended) in the 9-12 years cat­e­gory ‘Sleigh for Fa­ther Christ­mas’. In the ‘Snow Col­lage’ for nine to 12 years well done to Emma Tutty (first), Aimee Cur­ran (se­cond), and Colm Nolan (Highly Com­mended). Well done to ev­ery­one who took part.

Well done to Nicola Shortt (first), Emma Blake Hop­kins (se­cond), and An­drew Tutty (Highly Com­mended) in the Bake off for Rocky Roads (5-8 years); To Jack Con­dell (first), Ciara Moody (se­cond), Emma Whit­tle and So­phie Tutty (Highly Com­mended) for their Rice Krispies in the same age cat­e­gory.

Well done also to Adam Bourne (first) and Ciara Car­mody (se­cond) and Am­ber Hop­kins (Highly Com­mended) in the cat­e­gory of Choco­late Brown­ies (9-12 years).

The Com­mu­ni­ca­tions Group ex­pressed their thanks to all who con­trib­uted in any way to mak­ing this bumper edi­tion of the Re­view pos­si­ble. The Re­view 2018 will go on sale at week­end Masses on Satur­day and Sun­day next. The price this year is €7.

On the evening, the re­sults of the art com­pe­ti­tion were an­nounced.

The com­pe­ti­tion was run in all the na­tional schools over the past few weeks. Thanks to the schools for all their help, to the judges of the art and to all who par­tic­i­pated.

The re­sults of the art com­pe­ti­tion with the theme ‘Sport’ are as fol­lows Ju­nior/Se­nior and first Class: First: Derikas Stanke­vi­cius, Strat­ford on Slaney; se­cond: Con­all Mur­phy, Scoil Naomh Iosaf; third: Me­gan Hay­lock Strat­ford Lodge.

Se­cond/third and fourth Class: First: Aimee O’Reilly, Scoil Naomh Iosaf; se­cond: Max Mo­ran, Scoil Naomh Iosaf; third: Cara Flem­ing, Scoil Naomh Iosaf.
